We have several ways to access e-books.

First search EDUCAT and CLIO for the book you are looking for. If the call number is listed as EBOOKS or Electronic Resource, that book is available in digital format. Click on the link to take you to the resource.

However, not all ebooks are cataloged in EDUCAT and CLIO. To do a thorough search you should explore the following resources, available from the Teachers College Library databases page:

  • APA PsycNET - a full text database of books and book chapters from the American Psychological Association
  • ebrary - a collection of more than 44,170 full-text books and other authoritative content from subject areas such as Business & Economics, Computer, Engineering & Applied Sciences, Humanities, Science, Medicine & Allied Health, and Social Sciences

From Columbia University Libraries’ E-Resources page you can access their E-Book Collections (searchable collections of electronic books and other non-periodical texts available online through Columbia Libraries, along with some of the most outstanding publicly-accessible resources).

Many of the databases to which Columbia University Libraries subscribe contain full-text books or collections of books.

Furthermore, many public domain books are freely accessible via the Internet Archive and Google Books.
