IP Phones in Study Rooms
All of our study rooms are outfitted with Polycom SoundStation IP6000 conference phones. They can be connected over Ethernet to the TC network for use with our RingCentral service, managed by CIS.
Non-IP Phones for use with iPhone
We have some non-IP SoundStation models behind the desk which can be used as a peripheral speaker/mic for iPhone devices with a 3.5mm headphone jack. These are available by request and are available if needs arise.
Setup
SoundStation IP 6000 phones require an active Ethernet connection to the TC network. Plug the short Ethernet jumper to the wall, and any power over Ethernet (POE) capable cable can be run to the phone from the jumper. When the phone is powered up and connected to Ethernet, it will establish a network connection. When network connection is established, the LCD will display the phone number.
Instructions
To dial out from the IP 6000 models, no authorization codes are necessary. Dial-in numbers are displayed in the top left corner of the phone’s screen once the phone is set up (the number will appear next to an image of an envelope).
If you need assistance in using a Polycom conference phone, we can be reached in person at the Services Desk in person or via telephone, x 3494.
