From the TC Barrier Removal Committee:

All electronic publicity should avoid the following:

  • text on a colored backdrop with insufficient contrast
  • text embedded in a graphic animated graphics relying on color alone to convey meaning
  • highly stylized fonts

Avoiding such formatting not only makes your publicity more accessible to individuals using adaptive technology, such as screen readers, but also to individuals without disabilities who use non-standard browsers, view information in less than ideal lighting conditions, or access the internet over slow connections.
